The world of the Unknown Hunts that is – as we explore one of the most popular and innovative Hunts on the Second Life grid!

We’re back in the studio today to film the next episode of Happy Hunting! at 3pm today, Friday 24th February 2012. We’ll be in our super set in the Designing Worlds studio on Garden of Dreams – and you can join our live audience to be a part of it!

Our guest in the studio will be Evelyn Hartshon of Sleeping Koala, who has been organising The Unknown Hunts since August 2010.

What makes the Unknown Hunts different?

The Fresh Unknown Hunt

Well, Evelyn loves introducing people to new and exciting stores. With this in mind, she devised the Unknown Hunts – which give people a chance to explore new stores and locations they may never have visited before.  To do this, the stores that participate in a hunt will be ones that that opened during a specific time scale, usually a few months prior to the set hunt date, to give new stores a chance to reach out to the hunt community and find new fans.

Evelyn will be talking to Cinders about this, and about her latest Hunt – the Fresh Unknown Hunt (which runs from March 1st – March 31st).

In addition, Frequency Picnic, our hunt reporter, will be on hand with all the latest hunt news, and some examples of the wonderful items she’s found. And there will be the opportunity for the audience to get involved too as they can join in a special forum discussion in the second part of the show!

And, of course, we’ll be bringing you the the latest news of our Where in the World is MarkTwain White? competition! Did you find the place where the gnome was hiding? We’ll be revealing the location – and naming the lucky winner!

Happy Hunting! the increasingly popular television show about hunting in Second Life, is looking for a Segment Producer. This is a volunteer position.

Are you a person who loves exploring Second Life? Do you love discovering and sharing cool new places?  Happy Hunting! is looking for someone to find fun sims to be a part of the “Where in the world is MarkTwain White” feature segment of the show.

About Happy Hunting!
Happy Hunting! began airing on Treet TV in October of 2011. It is a bi-weekly show that is all about hunting in SL. Happy Hunting! feature interviews with hunt organizers, on location interviews with some of the best creators in Second Life, and a special Hunt Report that gives information on the latest hunts taking place on the grid.  It is produced by Prim Perfect Productions and broadcast on Treet TV.

As Segment Producer of “Where in the world is MarkTwain White” you will work with MarkTwain White directly and make sure he is properly set up so that he can film his segment.

Production Duties:

• Scouting out locations where potential filming will take place and providing a list to MarkTwain White for approval.
• Working with sim owners who will grant permission to film on their sim, grant permission to rez Marky the famous Happy Hunting! gnome, and who will provide the prize money.
• Coordinating the information of the winner for Host Cinders Vale to announce on-air.
• Coordination of the prize money to be sent to the winner.

This is an ongoing production with NO end date.  This is a volunteer position.
We film every other Friday with rehearsal at 2pm SLT and filming at 3pm SLT.

The first clue  (from the video) was: The name of the sim begins with the letter “Z”.

Here is a second clue: The parcel name refers to an apparel line.

The first clue  (which was in the broadcast) was: The name of this sim is the same as the small town “26 miles across the Sea” west of Los Angeles, CA on the island of Santa Catalina. THIS CLUE IS A MISTAKE. It should have read: The name of the region includes the name of a small town “26 miles across the Sea” west of Los Angeles, CA on the island of Santa Catalina.

Because of this mistake which has kept anyone from finding it we will make the second clue very clear.

Your second clue is: Markie is in the sim Are Lunga.

StupidFunWill is the avatar of Will Wright, creator of The Sims who recently joined the board of Linden Lab.

Widget Whiteberry is Co-Producer of Virtually Speaking: programming – conversations with teachers, researchers, scientists, commentators, politicos and authors about public policy and current events.

Alem Theas is the avatar of Grady Booch, presenter of the web-site Computing the Human Experience and perhaps best known for best known for developing the Unified Modeling Language with Ivar Jacobson and James Rumbaugh.

Thank you, everyone who came to see the filming of Show #6 on Friday! We discussed a few interesting hunts, including the Where is the Concert? Hunt, which ends in just a few days, on Feb. 3, so hurry if you want to get all the goodies and a chance at getting a spot in the audience for the big Mankind Tracer and TheFollow concert on Feb. 4!

Also featured on the show was the current gridwide hunt, The Full Perm Hunt: Waiting for Summer. Prizes are 2L each and anybody who likes to build or tinker with things in SL will love this hunt!
